If you’ve been following Swaptree on Facebook you know we’ve been very busy traveling the world and finding new things to swap for. Sure, we still swap our books, CDs, DVDs and video games – after all, a girl needs her bag of fun when flying all over the world – but we’ve picked up some awesome items to swap out from some of our favorite destinations.
From Los Angeles we brought you books and more books, then in New York we gave you free Internet and a few photos of the Empire State Building from our hotel. We even passed through China and picked up a few silk purses from Shanghai! On our recent trip to Santa Monica, we took photos of the amazing bathroom at Hotel Casa del Mar and offered to swap out the rubber ducky for a bathroom item in your home. This got us thinking: What if we swapped out something from every destination?

Rubber Ducky from Hotel Casa del Mar
To kick things off: The Rubber Ducky from Santa Monica!
We received offers from nearly 30 people wanting the adorable little rubber ducky we found in the bathroom at Casa del Mar. It’s amazing what you can learn from people just by asking them to go through their bathrooms. Here’s what we were offered:
More rubber duckies, a bottle of Mr. Bubble, a toy boat, a bag of Pampers Pull-ups, a slightly used toothbrush (ew!), a peach candle, anti-bacterial soap, bubble bath, Toy Story diapers, a plethora of bathroom books and magazines, hair dye, towels, seashells, Band-aids, a tube of lipstick and a sign that says, “Life is a beach-watch out for the crabs!”
But we’ve chosen our winner… Jennifer P. offered to swap us for a bar of soap she has from India! So cool!
We’re going to start our Swaptree Sees the World collection here in the Boston headquarters. As we collect and swap with you, our fans and friends, we’ll gather all our items and at the end of the year we’ll do something very special with what we’ve swapped. Stay tuned…
