It’s been a few months since I’ve officially jumped on board as CEO of Swaptree. In my inaugural note to all of you, I stressed that it is important that we get to know your needs, and learn ways we can enhance your experiences on Swaptree. I want to thank the many of you who have dropped me a note with suggestions in ways we can improve your Swaptree experience. We received great feedback from our user-testing sessions and the large participation in our recent surveys, and I am loving all of the conversation on our Facebook and Twitter pages, as well. We are reading, listening and learning, and it’s important to keep the communication flowing.
You might have noticed we are also starting to act upon this feedback. A few weeks ago we announced we’re adding Blu-ray and audio books to our categories – both are on target for you to begin swapping at the beginning of August. Additionally, in the last couple of weeks we launched a personalized weekly email that gives you information specific to your Swaptree account – something many of you have been asking for. We are continuing to add customer service resources and are working to incorporate many of your other requests into our product plans.
The world is recognizing us as the leader of swap market space as well. Today we were featured on CBS Morning Show for the second time this month, but there is even bigger news…
You’ve heard me mention our commitment to lead the Swap Movement that is going on across the globe. At this point in time, Swap.com is the leading online media swapping site, but we aim to be so much more. With a focus on serving our customers we know that we can expand and become the leader of this emerging category. In line with this ambitious goal, we are announcing to you our members, the acquisition of Swap.com.
What does this mean? It means we are serious about being the leader in our community, and that we are going to continue to work closely with you to enhance our swapping platform to meet your needs. The areas we are focused on include further enhancement to customer service, easier ways to search and browse products, improve ways to share information with your friends, and yes, the expansion to more categories, which will be available in the months ahead and throughout 2011. Why are we doing this? We want Swap.com to be the one-stop swapping site in the world and allow you, our growing list of members, the ability to swap just about anything you want. Swap.com will allow us to attract a wider array of members, which means more items available for swapping.
What do you need to do? Absolutely nothing. Well, one thing: please be sure to update your email lists to add donotreply@swap.com to your safe email senders list. You can rest assured as we move from Swap.com to Swap.com that all of your information – including all of your want and have lists – will transfer seamlessly.
Before you jump online and check it out, be advised that Swap.com simply redirects to Swap.com at this point. Over the next few weeks, you’ll notice that Swap.com will be replaced by Swap.com. We will be working closely with you as we move forward on this expansion initiative and we look forward to your comments and suggestions. We will continue to involve you – our community – in each of the transition steps so you can be part of this process. Through this collaboration we will together build the world’s biggest swapping site with Swap.com. In the meantime, amp up your want lists, add to your have lists and keep The Swap Movement going! Oh, and hey, don’t forget to stop by and say hi to us on Facebook and Twitter – we’ve been answering a lot of important questions from consumers and we’d love to hear from you.
Happy swapping,
Jeff Bennett, aka Swapchief
