Flashback: Movies from 1980-1989

What better way to spend a rainy day than with an old movie? Well, not that old…

In honor of Movie Monday at Swap.com’s Facebook page, we dug up some oldies, but goodies, from one of our favorite decades – the 1980s. These aren’t the typical movies you love – like “Top Gun”, “Ghostbusters”, or “Sixteen Candles” – these are the ones you forgot about!

It’s time to remind the Swap Nation of the silver screen favorites from the decade of big hair and and pegged jeans. Good news though: You don’t need a VHS to watch these flicks – we’ve got them all on DVD or Blu-ray! Sit back, reminiscence and see how many of these golden oldies you remember:

1980- Urban Cowboy “All cowboys ain’t dumb. Some of ‘em got smarts real good, like me.”
1981- Grease 2 “I’ll be your girl for all seasons…”
1982- Conan the Barbarian “For no one – no one in this world can you trust. Not men, not women, not beasts. This you can trust.”
1983- Uncommon Valor “Most human problems can be solved by an appropriate charge of high explosives.”
1984- Cannonball Run 2 “Here is to good luck. May it all be mine.”
1985- Legend “The dreams of youth are the regrets of maturity.”
1986- Short Circuit “Who’s Johnny?”
1987- Full Metal Jacket “Today, you people are no longer maggots. Today, you are Marines. You’re part of a brotherhood. From now on until the day you die, wherever you are, every Marine is your brother. Most of you will go to Vietnam. Some of you will not come back. But always remember this: Marines die. That’s what we’re here for. But the Marine Corps lives forever. And that means YOU live forever.”
1988- A Fish Called Wanda “I looked at the clock… because I was saying to myself… It’s five to seven, where could he be going with that sawed off shotgun?”
1989- Drugstore Cowboy “I knew it in my heart. You can buck the system but you can’t buck the dark forces that lie hidden beneath the surface. The ones some people call superstitions.”

What are your favorites? Share your 1980s movies with the rest of Swap Nation!
