An American Express Future of Consumer Spending survey has found that members of Gen Y, more than any other age group, have given up the notion of owning many of life’s necessities and are instead swapping, renting and leasing goods and sharing clothes.
Rather than fritter money away, they have become cost-conscious and don’t want to waste big dollars on expensive items that date and depreciate quickly.
