Swap of the Day: A New Way to Save on Back to School

August: the time of year when kids begin mourning the end of summer and parents begin to fret about the enormous amount of money they’re about to throw at back-to-school supplies and clothing.  At least, that’s how I remember August.

Which is why we thought the School Uniform Swap in El Paso, TX was an absolutely fantastic approach to cutting down on the high costs of going back to school.  School Uniform Swap is a practical, efficient way to get kids attending area schools the clothes they need by setting up an exchange of last year’s used (but still usable) uniforms for new ones.  All old uniforms are donated, and families are even offered additional school supplies, such as backpacks.

Of course, uniform swaps are all well and good if your child goes to a school that requires a uniform.  But do not fear, there are still ways to save without access to the above option.  Consider going through your child’s closet before shopping for new clothes so you have a better idea of what your kid really needs, instead of buying new supplies such as books, swap for them (hint hint: check out Swap.com!), and of course, look for sales and utilize those coupons!
