Well, the new Swap.com Market is finally here and if you’re like me you’ve already begun rummaging through all of your belongings to find the perfect items to list for swapping.
So now the question becomes, what’s the best way to list items that spark a variety of offers? And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why we’ve put together this quick list of tips and tricks to get you started:
- Take some great photos: Your image is often the first thing a potential trade partner will see, so it should look good! Make sure you can see the item in its entirety and with all the detail. You should also consider taking a few pictures from different angles to give a full 360 view and make sure the lighting looks good. As they always say, a picture is worth a 1,000 words.
– Come up with a snappy headline: Okay, while it doesn’t have to be snappy, but it should always be eye-catching, descriptive, and appropriate. The headline should say exactly what the item is, for example if listing a pair of jeans, don’t just title the item “jeans.” Instead consider something along the lines of “Express Bootcut Jeans, Size X.” That way your potential swap partner knows instantly whether or not your item is something they’re interested in.
- Spice up your description: Your description should be enticing! Include all the item details, include the the condition of your item, and don’t stop yourself from making your listing interesting! While swappers can get a good impression of what you’ve listed by your image and headline, your description is your opportunity to tell everyone the story behind the item. Would you rather swap for “A red knit cardigan,” or “A warm and cozy, vintage, red knit cardigan down from my grandmother.” See what I’m saying?
